Purpose: Location data is essential for showing nearby community members, calculating distances, and enabling emergency SOS alerts to function properly.

  • Operating system version (Android)
  • Unique device identifiers (Android ID)
  • Mobile network information
  • App version and build number

2.4 Push Notification Tokens

We collect and store Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) tokens to send you:

  • Emergency SOS alerts from nearby users
  • Community safety notifications
  • Important app updates and announcements

  • Features used and frequency of use
  • SOS alerts created and responded to
  • Time spent on different screens
  • App crashes and error logs
  • Login and logout times

2.6 SOS Alert Data

When you create or interact with SOS alerts, we collect:

  • SOS alert location (latitude, longitude)
  • Time and date of alert creation
  • Custom message or description (if provided)
  • Alert status (active, resolved, cancelled)
  • List of users who viewed or responded to the alert

3. How We Use Your Information

4. App Permissions Important

Our App requires the following permissions to function properly:

Required to track your location continuously, show nearby users, and enable SOS alerts even when the app is closed.

Required to send you critical emergency SOS alerts from nearby users. Notifications include custom sounds and vibrations.

Required to show full-screen emergency alerts even when your phone is locked or you're using other apps.

Required to communicate with our servers, fetch nearby users, and send/receive SOS alerts.

Required to keep your device awake when displaying critical SOS alerts, ensuring you don't miss emergencies.

Required to run background services for continuous location tracking and SOS alert monitoring.

⚠️ Important Permission Note

All permissions are mandatory for the App to function. Denying any permission will prevent you from using core features. On Android 13+ devices (especially Pixel phones), you may need to manually enable "Allow restricted settings" in app settings to grant overlay permission.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

5.1 With Other Users

We share certain information with other users of the App:

  • Your Name: Visible to nearby users and in SOS alerts
  • Your Location: Visible to nearby users within a configured radius (default: 10 km)
  • Distance: Calculated distance from other users
  • SOS Alerts: Your SOS alerts are visible to all users within range

5.2 Service Providers

We share data with trusted third-party service providers:

  • Google Maps Platform: For map display and location services
  • Firebase (Google): For push notifications and app analytics
  • Cloud Hosting Provider: For secure data storage and processing

5.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to:

  • Law enforcement requests

  • Logout: Stop location tracking by logging out of the app
